Mighty Erudite came about through the recognition that mass publishing markets increasingly provide books that cater for the lowest common denominator in readership tastes. As a result, talented, rare and fine writers are marginalised in favour of books that are cheaper to produce, have a high churn rate and as a result are seldom memorable. High art gets lost in three-for-two offers.
Here at Mighty Erudite we believe that readers should be offered works which challenge them, which reflect the unique vision of the lone writer, rather than the group-think processes of a giant publisher. Our mission is to find those courageous and often unpublished writers who will not bow to commercial pressure; those who write what they write regardless of ‘marketability’; those who will not fold under the weight of ‘more of the same’.
Original thought deserves a forum both for those who create and for those who consume - step right up.
